On the way off
exhibition with Leon Bohlsen
Kunstverein Osterholz e.V., Bremen
Toni Ehrhardt increasingly devotes himself to the medium of drawing. In doing so, he takes his colourful oil pastels off the wall and into the room in favour of their materiality. Between stands for which he uses organic material and an immobile shopping trolley, his drawings wander through this exhibition rather obtrusively jammed, lying and crawling rather than hanging. Material strangers rejoice in their coming together. In his investigation with a „vital materialism“, the close environment with all its inhabitants has become more important to the artist. Objects, amorphous forms and wavering interiors in the motifs roam through the cultural undergrowth, as do the drawings themselves in their form of presentation.
